How to Make a Jump Shot

How to Crossover Dribble in Basketball

How to Shoot Layups in Basketball

How to play basketball well

Hustle: This should be the primary focus for anyone that is lacking in athleticism. Make sure that you are giving 100% at all times and that you are not taking plays off. Because you are not the most athletic person on earth, you will have to outhustle your opponents.

Play Solid Defense: Being un-athletic does not prevent a basketball player from being good defensively. This ties into Step 1 because you will have to hustle on defense to be successful. Do not give your opponent any breathing room whenever he is moving without the ball. Whenever the player that you are guarding has the ball, give him a little space because if you play too close then he will simply drive around you. Be sure to always contest every shot.

Improve Your Shooting: Unlike athleticism, a person can greatly improve their shooting ability with practice.Even if your jump shot is just decent it will still be another aspect of your offensive arsenal that your opponents have to respect.

Do The Little Things: Players can be very successful at basketball if they do the intangibles, such as taking charges, diving on the floor for loose balls, and setting picks. All of these things do not require athleticism and are extremely important aspects of the game.

Don’t Get Discouraged: Always have a positive attitude and don’t get discouraged if you get scored on or get your shot blocked.

Additional tips about LeBron James

LeBron Raymone James is an American professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association.Nicknamed "King James", he was a three-time "Mr. Basketball" of Ohio in high school, and was highly promoted in the national media as a future NBA superstar while a sophomore at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School. At just 18, he was selected with the number one pick in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Cavaliers and signed a US$90 million shoe contract with Nike before his professional debut. Listed as a small forward, James has set numerous youngest player records since joining the league. He was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2003–04, NBA Most Valuable Player in 2008–09, and has been both All-NBA and an All-Star every season since 2005.

The focal point of the Cleveland offense, James has led the team to consecutive playoff appearances from 2006 through 2009. In 2007, the Cavaliers advanced to the Conference Finals for the first time since 1992 and to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history. James has been a member of the USA national team, winning a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics and gold at the 2008 Olympics.

LeBron James and Cleveland to clash with Kobe Bryant and Lakers in Finals

The top three teams from a year ago are still seen as the best after undergoing some major renovations. The Lakers, No. 1 in the West, will see if they can repeat as champs with Ron Artest potentially making waves. Cleveland, with the best record in the regular season, will find out if Shaquille O'Neal and Antawn Jamison can help get James his first title. The Magic, which shocked the Cavaliers last spring to win the East, will go for their its first title with Vince Carter playing the role of wingman to Dwight Howard.

In my opinions, here are 2 things to keep an eye on when it all tips off:

LeBron James gets back to business after taking a four-game vacation that had the NBA looking into his prolonged absence for "rest." Rest assured, because it's LeBron, the Cavs will be cleared of any wrongdoing. With O'Neal and Jamison on his side for the first time in the playoffs, this is James' best chance to win a title and end Cleveland's 45-year championship drought. What happens July 1? The bet here: He stays.

Unlike James, Kobe Bryant really needed the rest when he sat out L.A.'s final two games. He played all season with a broken right index finger and has had trouble lately getting lift on his shot due to swelling in his right knee. The fallout: In his last three games, he went through a stretch in which he missed 49 of 68 shots. "Bottom line, we're going to need him at his best during the playoff run," said forward Pau Gasol.

Celtics win, but could lose Garnett

Kevin Garnett's lack of composure didn't lead to a loss. Miami's did.Boston's emotional leader was slapped with two technicals after he elbowed Quentin Richardson in the jaw with 40 seconds left in the Celtics' 85-76 victory over the Heat in their playoff opener Saturday night.Garnett faces a possible suspension and could miss the second game Tuesday night in Boston.

He said he was concerned that Paul Pierce, who had fallen in front of the Miami bench, had hurt his shoulder and wanted to clear space around him. Richardson came by and said something, and Garnett struck him on the left side of the face with his left elbow."You make your bed, you have to lay in it," Garnett said about a possible suspension. "I am smarter than that. I have to keep my composure in a situation like that."

The Heat's loss of composure lasted much longer."The damage for us was done long before" the skirmish, Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said. "To play to that kind of pressure, a little bit of duress, a little bit of adversity, we did not respond well to it."Before his ejection, Garnett had played well with 15 points and nine rebounds. He was in the middle of a swarm of Heat players when Pierce fell down. There was shoving, and technicals were called at first against Miami's Udonis Haslem and Boston's Glen Davis.Trailing 44-41 at halftime, the Celtics held the Heat to 32 points in the second half. And with Tony Allen shadowing Dwyane Wade, the Heat guard scored 26 points after averaging 33.7 in three regular-season games against Boston.

Can the Thunder Upset the Lakers?

Sometimes it's hard for me to view the Los Angeles Lakers with an objective eye because my internal loyalties will always lie with the purple and gold. But based on this season, my subjectivity has been lost in a sea of reality.

Try as I may, there is no way to reconcile the obvious flaws which are inherent with this year's version of the Lakers, and the prospects of Los Angeles repeating their feat of 2009 have greatly diminished.

Issues abound. The most glaring concern for the Lakers is their inability to defend the point guard position, and if you add inconsistency and a nagging injury to Kobe Bryant, all the ingredients for a recipe of disaster are present.

These problems will definitely affect the Lakers if they hope to reprise their glory of last season and none should be ignored, but could they prevent the Lakers from even advancing past the first round of the postseason?

NBA tips——Triangle offense

Head coach Phil Jackson, with help from assistant coach Tex Winter, has utilized the triangle offense to great success. The Chicago Bulls under Jackson won six NBA titles in the 1990s playing in the triangle. Jackson's Los Angeles Lakers later won four championships employing the triangle.

The Triangle Offense, also known as the Triple-Post offense, is an offensive strategy in basketball. Its basic ideas were initially established by Hall of Fame coach Sam Barry at the University of Southern California. His system was later refined by former Kansas State University head basketball coach and current Los Angeles Lakers consultant Tex Winter, who played for Barry in the late 1940s.

The system's most important feature is the sideline triangle created between the center, who stands at the low post; the forward, at the wing, and the guard at the corner. The team's other guard stands at the top of the key and the weak-side forward is on the weak-side high post — together forming the "two-man game".

The goal of the offense is to fill those five spots, which creates good spacing between players and allows each one to pass to four teammates. Every pass and cut has a purpose and everything is dictated by the defense.

A professional basketball team---Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are a professional basketball team based in Boston,Massachusetts, playing in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association. The team is owned by Wycliffe Grousbeck and coached by Doc Rivers, with Danny Ainge as the President of Basketball Operations. Founded in 1946, their 17 NBA Championships are the most for any NBA franchise. The Celtics' greatest domination came from 1957 to 1969, with 11 championships in 13 years, and eight in a row, the longest consecutive championship winning streak of any North American professional sports team. They currently play their home games at TD Garden.

The Celtics either dominated the league or played a large part in the playoffs in the late 1950s through the mid 1980s. After the deaths of the second draft pick Len Bias in 1986 and Reggie Lewis in 1993, the team fell into a steady decline, only making the playoffs four times from 1996 to 2007. The franchise has recently returned to prominence when Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen joined Paul Pierce during the 2007 off-season. On June 17, 2008, the Boston Celtics won their 17th championship by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers 4–2 in the 2008 NBA Finals. Four Celtics (Bob Cousy,Bill Russell,Dave Cowens, and Larry Bird) have won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for an NBA record total of 10 MVP awards.
