Kobe Bryant is an American basketball shooting guard who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Bryant is the only son of former Philadelphia 76ers player and former Los Angeles Sparks head coach Joe "Jellybean" Bryant. Selected 13th overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 1996 NBA Draft, Bryant was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers for Vlade Divac a month later.He and then-teammate Shaquille O'Neal led the Lakers to three consecutive NBA championships from 2000 to 2002. After O'Neal was traded to the Miami Heat following the 2003–04 season, Bryant became the cornerstone of the Lakers franchise.He led the NBA in scoring during the 2005–06 and 2006–07 seasons.In 2006, Bryant scored a career-high 81 points against the Toronto Raptors, the second-highest number of points scored in a game in NBA history,behind only Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point performance. Bryant was awarded the regular season's Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) in the 2007–08 season and led his team to the 2008 NBA Finals as the first seed in the Western Conference.In the 2008 Summer Olympics, he won a gold medal as a member of the U.S. men's basketball team, occasionally referred to as "The Redeem Team." Bryant has been selected to eleven All-NBA Team (seven times to the All-NBA First Team) and nine All-Defensive Team (seven times to the All-Defensive First Team). He was selected to play in the NBA All-Star Game on 12 consecutive occasions, winning All-Star MVP Awards in 2002, 2007, and 2009, the last of which he shared with Shaquille O'Neal. Kobe Bean Bryant is an American shooting guard who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Bryant enjoyed a successful high school basketball career and made instant headlines when he decided to go directly into the NBA upon graduation. He was selected with the 13th overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets, then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant and then-teammate Shaquille O'Neal led the Lakers to three consecutive NBA championships from 2000 to 2002. After O'Neal's departure following the 2003–04 season, Bryant became the cornerstone of the Lakers franchise. He led the NBA in scoring during the 2005–06 and 2006–07 seasons.In 2006, Bryant scored a career high 81 points against the Toronto Raptors, the second highest number of points scored in a single game in NBA history, second only to Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point performance.

In 2003, Bryant made headlines when he was accused of sexual assault at a hotel in Edwards, Colorado by a hotel employee. Bryant admitted an adulterous sexual encounter with the accuser, but denied the sexual assault allegation. In September 2004, prosecutors dropped the case after his accuser informed them that she was unwilling to testify.[8] Bryant's accuser brought a separate civil suit against him that was ultimately settled out of court.

The Los Angeles Lakers are a National Basketball Association team based in Los Angeles, California. The Lakers play their home games at Staples Center, which they share with their fellow NBA rival, the Los Angeles Clippers, and their sister team, the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA.The Lakers are the current NBA champions after defeating the Orlando Magic in the Finals 4 games to 1. The Lakers' franchise was founded in 1946 in Detroit, Michigan before moving to Minneapolis, where the team got its official title from the state's nickname, "Land of 10,000 Lakes."The Lakers won five championships before relocating to Los Angeles in the 1960–61 season. The Lakers lost all of their eight appearances in the NBA Finals in the 1960s, despite having help from Elgin Baylor and Jerry West. In 1972, the Lakers won their sixth title, first in Los Angeles, under coach Bill Sharman. The Lakers' popularity soared in the 1980s when they won five additional championships during a nine-year span with the leadership of Hall of Famers Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, James Worthy and coach Pat Riley, the franchise's all-time leader in regular season game wins and playoff games coached and wins. Two of those championships during that span were against their arch-rivals, the Boston Celtics. The Introduction of NBA
NBA, short for National Basketball Association, is found on June 6, 1946. It is reported that they found the match because the bosses of ice hockey court didn’t want to leave the court idle when there were no ice hockey game. So some of them decided to do some thing to please their fans. So they just found it. At that time, it was a small league including 8 teams. Via more than half a century’s effort, it, now, become one of the five most successful sports match all over the world. Every year millions of fans are crazy for the NBA. Take the Dream Eight as an example, during the Beijing Olympic games, the American basketball team are surrounded by the crazy fans everywhere. Such scenes are beyond the imagination of all-stars, though they have experienced many big scenes. As you can see the influence in China.
With the team Charlotte bobcats joining the association in 2004, there are 30 teams in all. It is divided into two conferences-----the western conference and the eastern conference, each of which has 15 teams. Each conference is composed of three divisions which consist of five teams.
The games of NBA consist of the regular season, the playoff, and the final. Every year every team needs to play 82 matches with other opponents, and then they are listed according to the NBA rank rules. Eight teams at the top of the list in each conference, have the opportunity to play the playoff. And the final will be held at the end of every April, which is the grand festival to the basketball fans.
